‘Awareness Through Movement” is a series of online Feldenkrais Zoom classes that help improve the organization of the neck, shoulders, and jaw. “Movement patterns, tightness and unease in these parts are usually all linked together and are very common,” according to Nikola.

The somatic movement researcher adds, “They can be often experienced as pain, TMJ issues, headaches, stress, restricted breathing or bad posture.” The author of the Zoom classes suggests that those who take part will be getting to learn how to improve the use of this area of the body and integrate it with the rest of their being.

The Feldenkrais classes are designed as movement inquiry. The participants will get to explore how they use and experience their body, and how they can improve it. According to Nikola, he guides all his participants verbally in slow, gentle movement sequences. “This process intends to change deep unconscious movement habits that are causing unnecessary tension in the body, and to create space for more efficient use of self,” suggests Nikola.

During the class, the participants are mainly required to move in a lying position or sitting on the floor whilst following the author’s verbal guidance. There is no need for looking at the screen, as the participant’s attention is free to focus on their own experience. They’re highly recommended for anyone looking to improve the quality and range of movement or recover from injury.
