A gem, a marvel of nature, that’s delicately extracted through the depths of the earth, crafted into something fine and captivating.
This steel art installation was crafted over a period of nine months, acquiring another symbolic portrayal of the constant change and formation of new life. In essence, the installation represents the process of extracting raw stone from the depths of earth and its subsequent refinement into aesthetic things. The art installation in Rajasthan, India, is 12 feet tall, based on an elevated stone surface. It’s located at the manufacturing unit of StoneX India – a leading stone and marble brand. Through the Depths by Vibhor Sogani is a mutable depiction, that will weather and change with time.
Construction of Through the Depths
The structure is connected using a stainless-steel wire to a stone globe, crafted from an exotic stone to epitomise the brand’s identity and commitment to quality and luxury. The steel section is crafted from 316 grade stainless steel in a mirror finish. As you move about the installation, the structure transforms with changing viewing angles and persisting activity and weather conditions in its vicinity.
The illustrative surfaces of this stone and steel art installation capture the attention of patrons and visitors alike, endowing them with an awareness of the surrounding environments. The steel art structure emulates transformation between day and night, seasonal changes and atmospheric occurrences, becoming a dynamic vista in itself. The state-of-the art unit itself is reflected in the surfaces of the disc, presenting their own exceptional creation to be appreciated by the audience.
